The names of the policemen involved in the killing of Anton Sterlin have now been known, the officers are: a four-year-veteran, Blane Salamoni and three-year-veteran Howie Lake II.

The two officers responded to the anonymous caller who said that Sterlin had pulled out his gun at someone and had asked them to leave the property, a gun which his friend said he keep to himself after a friend of Sterling was mugged in the area a few months ago.

According to a video released by a witness at the scene of the shooting, the officers were asking Sterlin to get down on the floor, and when he did not, he was tackled to the floor aggressively by the officers.

One of the officers then yells at Sterling: 'You f****** move and I swear to God...' , and in less than 2 seconds, one of the officers shouted "He's got a gun!! gun" before another officer removed his gun from the holster and shot him in the chest.

It also have been revealed that Blane Salamoni was put on administrative leave after he had killed another police in December 2014, but was reinstated to the force.

Some of the other high profile cases that had caused a stain on the police in the US and massive wide protest includes the shooting of Eric Garner in New York city, Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri.

At a press conference by the family of Sterlin, the oldest child of Sterlin broke down in tears, and had to be removed from the press conference by the member of the family. Quinyetta McMillan, wife of Anton Sterlin said; "As a mother I have now been forced to raise a son who is going to remember what happened to his father."

Quinyetta continues; "The individuals involved in his murder took away a man with children who depended upon their daddy on a daily basis"
