60 ISIS Militants Dead After Plans To Takeover Syrian Army Base Failed

ISIS, Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) suffered a serious defeat on Sunday Morning after its attempt to breach the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) Frontline defence at the Kuweires Military Air base in the east Aleppo countryside.

The assault that started at 9A.M (Damasacus time) is the largest assault by the ISIS militant group and the largest defeat since they had re-captured  Al-Hasakah City last month. Over 200 ISIS militant members appeared at the Western and Southern flanks of the  Kuweires Military Air base, and an estimated two dozen armoured tank and BMPs.

But the Frontline defence was ready and they gave ISIS a heavy resistance, killing the ISIS militants as they come in their dozens hoping that they would win the war against the military.

According to the military source, Over 60 members of the militant group were killed by the Syrian Arab Army, and also three T-55 tanks and eight armoured vehicles that were mounted with a variety of anti-aircraft machine guns were destroyed.

The Syrian Army also started its own counter-assault campaign, recapturing some sites to the South of the airbase, and another checkpoint that had been under the control of ISIS for 8 months.
