Google Chrome New Release Fix High Memory Usage, Now With Better Speed

Google seems to be doing a lot of re-branding with its products, and not just re-designing it logo, after fixing a major bug on its browser, Google Chrome. Google Chrome is known to be one of the most memory, disk hogging application on the PC. A lot of users had complained about these issues since the announcement of the Chrome browser, and some had to switch to less known browser or browsers forked from the chromium engine.

Google has now released a new version of the Google chrome browser, and it fixed the issue of PC memory consumption, now, Google Chrome does not only load faster, it also uses less memory.

On its official blog, Ryan Schoen, Product Manager and Performance Promoter said:

Chrome has long had the option to “continue where you left off” by restoring tabs when you relaunch Chrome. Now, Chrome is smarter about restoring your tabs more efficiently. Tabs are restored from most to least recently viewed, so you get to see the most important tabs faster. And Chrome will now detect if your computer is running low on resources and stop restoring the rest of your tabs to save you precious memory. You can always click to restore them if you'd like to access them later.

Google Chrome also introduced a memory-saving technique that will detect when a tab is idle, and use that time to clean up old and unused memory aggressively. This technique saves up to 10% on average, and this might increase on web apps like Gmail, which can free up one-quarter of memory used by the tab.

The new Google Chrome also has a new feature that helps improve power-usage, depending on your computer hardware. The new setting that was introduced in June will help auto-pause flash content on a website, and this setting makes your battery last for another 15%, depending on your operating system.

According to Ryan :

There's much more in the works for upcoming versions of Chrome. So get ready for faster, even more powerful browsing!
