google chrome

The latest update of Google Chrome and other browsers using the Blink engine (Vivaldi, Slimjet) added a new feature called "Tab Discarding". The new feature is to allow a better, faster Chrome browser, by discarding a tab that a user is not using after some minutes.

The new feature is not well received among the Google Chrome fans, and probably yourself, and that is why you are here.

  How To Disable Tab Discarding

You can turn off tab discarding by going to "chrome://flags/" and under automatic tab discarding, change it from defaults to disabled

Change Automatic tab discarding to "disabled"

The automatic page refreshing though will increase memory, but at the same time can be annoying to a lot of Chrome users. Try to imagine yourself streaming a movie, and you have seen it for 1hour, and it stopped streaming, so no more buffering, but you decided to get yourself more popcorn from your kitchen, the tab would have reloaded, which means you need to stream all over again. Same goes to if you are trying to book a flight, and while confirming the information or looking at a new tab for few minutes, the booking tab reloads and all information gone.

If you are a journalist, and you had written 2000 words, and decided to find some information via a new tab, then the whole write-up might just be reloaded and wipe up if your tab don' save information as you write them.

If you need to disable this feature, that is the solutio above.

A computer geek, Andris Atteka have discovered a code that crashes Google Chrome when a null character is added in the URL. The characters when typed into Google Chrome URL text field will send the browser into crashing.

Users of the Google Chrome have been asked not to fall for the flaw and not to type the character when asked to do it. Google Chrome will crash on user's computer when they type in this URL; http://a/%%30%30.

Security researchers found that the character at the moment only affects Google Chrome and other browsers like Firefox, Safari are not affected by the flaw.

Google is working on fixing the flaw, and have warned their users of tweets or pranks from friends asking them to try the character.

Google seems to be doing a lot of re-branding with its products, and not just re-designing it logo, after fixing a major bug on its browser, Google Chrome. Google Chrome is known to be one of the most memory, disk hogging application on the PC. A lot of users had complained about these issues since the announcement of the Chrome browser, and some had to switch to less known browser or browsers forked from the chromium engine.

Google has now released a new version of the Google chrome browser, and it fixed the issue of PC memory consumption, now, Google Chrome does not only load faster, it also uses less memory.

On its official blog, Ryan Schoen, Product Manager and Performance Promoter said:

Chrome has long had the option to “continue where you left off” by restoring tabs when you relaunch Chrome. Now, Chrome is smarter about restoring your tabs more efficiently. Tabs are restored from most to least recently viewed, so you get to see the most important tabs faster. And Chrome will now detect if your computer is running low on resources and stop restoring the rest of your tabs to save you precious memory. You can always click to restore them if you'd like to access them later.

Google Chrome also introduced a memory-saving technique that will detect when a tab is idle, and use that time to clean up old and unused memory aggressively. This technique saves up to 10% on average, and this might increase on web apps like Gmail, which can free up one-quarter of memory used by the tab.

The new Google Chrome also has a new feature that helps improve power-usage, depending on your computer hardware. The new setting that was introduced in June will help auto-pause flash content on a website, and this setting makes your battery last for another 15%, depending on your operating system.

According to Ryan :

There's much more in the works for upcoming versions of Chrome. So get ready for faster, even more powerful browsing!

A lot of internet browsers are now out there, the only issue is selecting the best one for your usage. The selection of my own personal browsers is determined by few lists, some of the things I check before selecting my browsers are :

Free

Security

Less Resources Usage

Appearance

Simplicity/Presentation

But this is basically what most major browsers now have in the year 2014 . Though some browsers lack some of these features especially presentation/compatibility with some website.

I love Google Chrome because it is the best browser anybody with the love of the internet should be using. One of the problems with Google Chrome is the system resources it consumes when working. Google Chrome unlike other browsers delivers great browsing speed to the user and also maintain a high level of security.

The problem with Google Chrome is that, to be able to work at that speed, Google Chrome tabs uses different System Resources ; what that means is if you open Facebook.com, and also gmail.com. Both websites will go to the computer and use different system resources, making Google Chrome very slow. If you open Google Chrome, it is difficult to use any other system consuming program as your system will experience freezing at a very annoying rate.

I recently came across a browser recently and it is called Pale Moon BrowserThis internet browser is a fork from the Mozilla Firefox browser, which is an alternative and also alternative browser to Google Chrome. The Pale Moon Browser features the list above. It might appear as Firefox, but this is one of the best browsers that uses less system resources. Like Google Chrome, Firefox browser uses a lot of system resources too, but the Pale Moon Browser uses less system resources.

A lot of other browsers have been forked away from Google Chrome and Firefox, but one of the forked web browser that is the best without issues is Pale Moon Browser. Your computer will stop freezing, good speed, and the appearance is just like Mozilla Firefox.

Google Chrome is one of the fastest browsers out there and almost 98% of website reviews will placed it as number 1 of browsers.Aside from the website reviews, you can notice the sleek, speed and security of Google Chrome. What a lot of users don't know is that unlike other browsers, Google chrome uses more system resources when in use. Each Google Chrome process uses your system resources. What that means is that, if you open 10 tabs. Each of the browser tabs will use different resources on your computer.

This can be quite frustrating as other programs will respond slowly or new programs will take minutes to open, making you feel you need a new antivirus. The problem might not be a virus attack, but Google Chrome. If you check my disk usage in the picture above, you will notice, it is 67%. Sometime last week, it keeps bouncing between 98% and 100%, making a snail way faster than my computer.

The solution

Just like your browser tabs using your resources, some of the reasons your computer is slow with Google Chrome are the extensions. Do you believe each extension you use on Google Chrome, when in use or not, use the system resources on your computer?

So it is time to check and balance. Some extensions, you have not used for 6 months. Which means such is not that good or not necessary to still be on your computer. Remove such extension.

I had like 8 extensions before now, currently am keeping 2 extensions and my computer runs better.

Also when using Google Chrome, it is advisable to close all browser tabs you are not using or won't be using anymore. This will allow more resources for the current tabs.

So if your Google Chrome is always freezing or making your computer slow. You probably want to try this method before uninstalling it.

Another solution is download CCcleaner to clear your browser caches and history.

Good luck

Have you ever tried using a friend's computer while you trying to look at your notifications on Facebook or checking your E-mail? When you log on to a computer that is not yours, there is something called cookies that is stored up on your friends computer that will show up your username you used before you logged out of that computer.

Let me break it down, You signed onto a friends computer using [email protected], when you sign out and your friend need to sign in, immediately your friend input any character to the username field, your username shows back up

This might not be a big deal, but i don't like my username showing up on everybody computer, am always careful, some people might even want to try inserting your password or something. The worst part of it is some people will just open a public computer and start browsing....

In this post, i want to show you how to use a public computer or a friend's computer in stealth mode. Some reasons for this are not far fetched

Web pages that you open and files downloaded while you are stealth mode aren't recorded in your browsing and download histories.

Changes made to your Google Chrome bookmarks and general settings while in incognito mode are always saved.

All new cookies are deleted after you close all windows that you've opened. In other words, if you open your E-mail account and you close the browser all of a sudden, the whole session is gone. nobody will know what just happened...

All major browsers have the stealth mode settings...

In google chrome : Incognito mode
Safari :Private Browsing
Mozilla Firefox : Private browsing
Internet Explorer : InPrivate Browsing (laughing if you still use IE)
