Tsunami Alert As 7.3 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Japan

A 7.3 magnitude earthquake has hit Southern Japan, near the city of Kumamoto on Friday, just a day after a strong but small earthquake hit the same region. A Tsunami alert was issued for Ariake sea and Yatshushiro sea, but was later withdrawn. Photos emerging on social media shows rescue team trying to rescue people from building a fire and wreckage.

                   

At least one person has been killed according to local media reports. More than 400 people are being treated in hospitals, and people living near the dam have been asked to evacuate the dam for fears it might crumble.
