A man among the victim said "I am a Nazarene [a Christian]", and they were all shot dead. An ISIS fighter who stepped forward said the church is responsible for their death as it fails to protect its members, and said that a ransom of $14 million be paid to be paid quickly to the group to save the lives of the 280 other Christians.

The Assyrian Christians were kidnapped in February when ISIS attacked the 35 villages in Al Hasakah province in northern Syria and took away hundreds of Christians. According to Syrian sources, 23 releases have been released, while the remaining Christians remained hostages to the group.

US based Assyrian activist, Nahren Anweya said that the killings happened two weeks ago, and before the three hostages were shown in the video, several children from the Christians hostages have been killed, and he called on the International community to create some special forces that would help see to the release of other ISIS hostages.

"It is extremely critical that special operations heads in immediately and frees these indigenous Christian people before they're all executed," she said.
