The US military has just dropped a "Mother Of All Bombs" at an ISIS occupied area in the East part of Afghanistan, well known to be populated ISIS-affiliated militants. According to the Pentagon, this is the first time the MOAB is used in a non-combat operations.
Spokesperson for the US Department of Defence confirmed that the military dropped the 21,000 lb, GPS-guided munition that is America’s most powerful non-nuclear bomb., and it was dropped by a MC-130 at 7pm local time.
According to Adam Stump, a Pentagon spokesperson, the bomb was dropped upon a cave used by the ISIS militants in the Achin district of Nangarhar, close to the border with Pakistan.
This is the first time the bomb, built during the Iraq war was ever used by the US air forces.
