I might sound a little bit blunt than you used to know me...So this is where i advised you stop to read this blog because it might show another side of me you yet to see..What about we start like this...Religion is Overrated. Ok that sounds to general and not so blunt. Christianity and Islam are the most overrated religion in the world. Yes, i know what you are thinking, oh, that is blasphemy, he is a bad Christian/Muslim. But let us come back to our senses and drop the thoughts your parents told you years back.
That is a fact, 95% of youth never had the chance to choose a religion, they were told to attend catechism classes or Quaranic schools. It happens so fast and it sticks with you for life. Until you are told right from wrong, that is the way you will die believing what your parents told you.
If you have no choice of choosing what you wanted, that means the word FREEDOM had been given a new definition.
What we were told is that religion is peace, it is tolerating each other and living as one. We were told you need to be holy, help your neighbour and love your neighbour as much as you love yourself. These are lovely things to hear, then you read the news to notice what is happening in your environment, and you are like "Ohhh, not again".
The countries in the world that practice most of Christianity and Islam are : Afghanistan, Iran,Iraq, Sudan,Nigeria, and Pakistan. These are the countries with religious leaders also also with a lot of followers.These are places you should go to with a complete peace of mind. But reverse is the case. At the recent top 10 countries with high terrorist killings. These are countries with the high kill rate of killing innocent people. So we need to check and re-check ourselves again, what is wrong with the society now.
Look at Afghanistan attack on the US, they accused the USA government of killing their people and therefore must revenge the killing of their brothers and sisters.9/11 will never be wiped off our memories, we see people who had no choice jumping down from high rise building and that was the definition of victory for some group of people.
Yes, that is right, but this was exactly what i was told people that does not read the Quran and bible do, now who is lieing? We were told religion is all about forgiving and forgetting about the past, but it seems the part of forgiveness in the bible/quran was torn out by the leaders of religious groups. Religion in all these countries is like cultism. Kill and be killed, and the cycle continues since God knows when.
A case study is Afghanistan, Iran and Sudan, these countries makes you think the dine with God (Allah). They make you think all is well, then they turned back and start killing people. Am not sure that is what God wants. He does not authorize killings of another human being.
I am surprised when people come forward that they are fighting for God...Really??? The same God that i was told created heaven and earth? The God that speaks and everything obeys? A man with a black flag in a country will tell you he is fighting for that same God. Makes you wonder if it is illiteracy or wickedness of some people.
Look at James Foley death, i saw it on liveleak, oh what a world, James Foley died because he is a citizen of USA. Now they want $1m to release his corpse. These are the same people that use "there is no God except Allah" flag. Yes, we get it. Allah did not want you to kill, not forgive, lie, cheat or revenge against anybody. This is what the Quran taught us Muslims.
This is not an attack on religion, am just trying to share my opinion on why i will be an Atheist soon. So when you see me as an atheist, please dpn't judge me.
This week is another bad week for both Pakistan and Australia. A man in Australia entered Lindt Cafe cafe. He claimed to be a Muslim fanatics and also believe Americans and killing Afghans, so in a bid to stop, he took hostages of Australians. In a bid to stop the man after 17hours, 3 people died. That is a man that had been on different podium talking about the love of God, is this the same people i want to follow? Let us go to Africa, Nigeria. It is 246 days since the Chibok school girls had left their parents. The offence is that they go to school and using the western syllabus. I dont know why this doesn't make sense to me...But I do know some really good Muslims, but i am not sure if this one IS a Muslim or Milsum(No offence).
Have you heard of another 130 killed in Pakistan? all these are religion killings, the killers were shouting, kill all the christian children, they are hiding under the desk, kill them. And they went further to burn the school principal alive whiIe the kids watch. Can we just remain an atheist.
This is not an attack on religion, but aside from telling people how to live a good life, am not sure of some pastors in Nigeria, because am not sure of what they say on TV. Sometimes it is difficult to love one another, but when some pastors decided to tell you God wants them to divorce their spouse, WHAAAAAT? you say?? What???
I also heard how a pastor in Nigeria uses his own private plane to lift arms and ammunition worth $9million dollar...WHATTTT? Another pastor in a Ondo, Nigeria, sleeps around with church members. Another pastor was alleged of giving out bribes to journalist to write good news about his church and the people after hundreds of people die in that church building.. Is it all worth it to listen to these people or we can all just remain atheist and believe nothing? or better still worship what we believe in the comfort of our homes.
Some countries with other religion seems to be doing fine, at least am yet to hear about another bomb blast in Vietnam since the war finished.Other countries include Brazil, Iceland, Poland, Mongolia, Liberia and Botswana, Switzerland, Japan, Canda, New Zealand, North Korea. You notice this are either socialist countries or give less attention to religion.
So i am of a conclusion that religion is one of the problems in our society. Go to an auditorium where people worship, you will be so surprised. So how come we still have terrorist among this people. When a young boy finishes from Quranic school and he recites the quran, you will think he recites for the Saudi King, but the truth is, this same boy one day will take our girls away and keep them for 246 days. Is this what religion teaches us?
Are you really practicing what you preach, can we just live according to personal believe, am disappointed at people causing havoc in the name of religion..
