The peace arrangement between the Fulani herdsmen and its host communities by the government of Ekiti state did not bear much fruit after a pregnant Tiv woman was killed 24 hrs after the meeting.

The woman was reported to be from Benue state, and was shot dead at a farm settlement at Orin community in Ido/Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State. Rumours going around said that the woman was killed by the Fulanis to retaliate the death of a Fulani man killed by the Tivs in OKe Ako, Ekiti.

There has been great rivalry between the Tivs from Benue state staying in Ekiti State and the Fulani community, and the governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state warned both parties to have patience, and not to go around with a reprisal attacks as it will only escalate the situation.

The governor tweeted after the killing;

On Monday night, I was told about the killing of one Fulani man in Oke Ako.They claimed it was a Tiv man that killed the Fulani man,I want the killer arrested & prosecuted. I won't accept killing of anyone here in Ekiti.Be you Yoruba,Fulani, Tiv or Igbo, I must protect your life.

Ekiti, Nigeria : As election draw near in Ekiti state, Nigeria. A gubernatorial aspirant has resolved that the best way of getting votes to be elected as the new governor of the state is  sharing a bag of rice for all voters. This development is not a new trend in Nigeria,  where it's people survive living under 1 dollar everyday. This is a strategy used by different aspirants in Nigeria to beg for votes from voters every four years by using the country situation to ride on their people intelligence. A bag of rice will cost 2 dollars in Nigeria.

Ayo Fayose, an aspirant under PDP(People democratic party), the same party that rules the country seat of power was the former governor of Ekiti State from 29 May 2003 – 16 October 2006 before he was impeached from office for embezzling state funds and awarding contracts to friends and family. He later left the country in order to evade arrest.

The sharing of food items is something done by different political parties in Nigeria.They share food items, music CDs that contain praises by popular music acts, mobile phones, clothes and also throwing money to their followers while they campaign.

This shows the level of abject poverty in the country, because most Nigerians don't care what happens when they are in office, they are mostly interested in the gifts they get at that point in time. This type of politics is'nt allow development in the country of 150 million without good Education system, no stable Electricity, No drinking water and many more.

We hope the Nigerians citizen will one day reject bad offers from its politicians and choose a mandate that have the country and its people at heart
