A 59 years old Englishman, Dean Kaya had hanged himself in Royal guest house around 10:45pm yesterday (6/5/2015) in his hotel room. Kaya with passport number AJ328303 was staying on the 2nd floor, room 17 at the Royal guest house, 154 9th Street neighbourhood shopping centre 2 Daun.                   According to images from the scene, Dean Kaya had used a door knob inside the hotel room to hang himself. 

The outspoken governor of Ekiti State, Governor Ayodele Fayose has allegedly said the PDP chairman, Adamu Mu'Azu sold PDP to APC and he has got evidence to prove it. In a statement released by the governor through his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka today May 5th, Fayose says he wondered how PDP could have lost Bauchi to APC, even though it is the stronghold of the party chairman.

On the second of May 2015, the duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a baby girl at 8:34am (UK time). Weighing 3.7 kilograms (8 lbs 3oz), the baby and the mother are doing both fine. The new baby is the first princess to be born for more than 180 years. A name is yet to be announced to the general public. The duke of Cambridge was present at the exclusive lindo wing of St. Mary 's hospital, London, the same place Prince William, Prince Harry and Prince George were born.

Baltimore, USA: The police officers involved in the arrest of Freddie Gray on April 12, have been charged with multiple counts, including second-degree murder and manslaughter, in connection with the death of a 25-year-old African American man in police custody. Freddie Gray was arrested and taken into police custody on April 12, where he sustained severe spinal cord injury, requiring a medical attention, he went into coma several days later and died just a week after he was arrested.

Togo's President Faure Gnassingbe has won the country's election as president for his term bid. Gnassingbe won his opponent, Jean-Pierre Fabre in the Saturday polls with 58. 75 percent to 34.95 votes respectively.               

Phnom Penh, Cambodia: A Nigerian man, Ekwegbaly Ugochukwu Udoka, 26 has been charged to court on Monday for raping a Norwegian tourist, 27 years after he posed as a taxi driver and offering to drive her home from a nightclub in the early hours of Friday.         

The Nigerian troops who have been tasked with fighting insurgents in the North Eastern part of the country had tweeted a news that relieved a lot of Nigerians via his official Twitter handle today. The Defence Nigeria headquarter tweeted :           Even if the women rescued are not the Chibok girls that were captured by Boko Haram for almost a year, the people rescued were in captivities too and it is good to be back home.

The Bali 9 duos who have been in the news for sometime now, Myuran Sukumaran and Andrew Chan have been executed along with six others. They were killed by Indonesian firing squad shortly after midnight on Wednesday. The prisoners were taken to Nusakambangan Island and were shot dead by 12 police privates, armed with rifles at 25 minutes past 12am. The Indonesian government has ignored pleas for clemency from the victims family and Australian international officials.
