PDP Candidate, Darius Ishaku Win Taraba Governorship Election
INEC has declared PDP governorship candidate, Arch. Dickson Darius Ishaku as the winner of the gubernatorial election in the state. Ishaku won the election with 369,318 number of votes, to win his opponent, Sen. Aisha Arhasan of All progressive congress, APC.                The election of April 11 was declared inconclusive by the returning officer in Taraba. Only 6 local government was approved last time while the remaining 10 had just been concluded last Saturday.

Kathmandu, Nepal: An earthquake of 7.9 magnitude has struck the central city of Nepal Capital, Kathmandu and the city of Pokhara. The death toll in the death toll rises to 1911 today as rescue operations in the country intensifies. Also victims of the quake include people from India, Bandladesh, Tibet and Mount Everest where avalanches were triggered.

INEC Declares Rochas Okorocha As Winner, Imo State Governor
The incumbent governor of Imo State has been announced winner of the Saturday supplementary election that concludes the April 11 governorship election in the state. Mr Okorocha, the All progressive congress (APC) candidate won the election with 416,996 votes, while his opponent, Mr. Ihedioha had 320,705 votes.

Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Refunds $1.48bn- Diezani Alison-Madueke
PriceWaterHouse Coopers audit firm had instructed that the NNPC returns unspecified amount of money to the federation account after an audit by the presidency some months back. The Minister of Petroleum Resources Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, on Wednesday disclosed that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has started refunding the $1.48bn unremitted fund into the Federation Account as recommended by an audit firm.
